Day Trip to Half Moon Bay

Half Moon Bay is a short trip away from San Francisco with beautiful coastline views, small town vibe and has great outdoor activities all season long.

The drive to Half Moon Bay is gorgeous. Our first stop was Pacifica State Beach it was a great stop to stretch our legs and enjoy the view.  We also spotted the most amazing Taco Bell you could perhaps find in the world. After enjoying the view, we headed back on the road but we will for sure be back to visit Pacifica especially in the spring/summer time during surfing season.

Once we arrived at Half Moon Bay our first stop was The Ritz-Carlton. The hotel has beautiful views looking out to the ocean, the main restaurant, Navio, serves great brunch and dinner and we did a short walk from the resort down to the beach. We really enjoyed our time relaxing here for an hour or so. My husband and I kept saying if we had gotten married in California we would have chosen to get married at this hotel.

For lunch, we went to Sam’s Chowder House and we loved this restaurant. We both ordered the lobster roll and the size of the meal was generous. It was seriously one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had and to top that we sat with a perfect view of the coast. IF only we could eat lunch like this every day! No wonder they had won so many awards over the years. The place was also packed so making reservations in advance for lunch at this place is highly encaged.

Post lunch we did a hike at Montana Mountain View Trail. The hike was beautiful with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The hike was easy for an uphill hike.  You may get lucky and see some whales from the top.

We also visited the Historic Main Street for some shopping and dessert. We had the best time there all the boutique stores are very cute and a lot of the products sold here are locally made. The cafes here are wonderful. I had an espresso at Half Moon Bay Coffee Co. and the BEST cookies at Half Moon Bakery (we had to come back to buy some chocolate cookies for our trip back home).

Make sure to visit Fitzgerald Marine Reserve for the 3 mile stretch of bluffs and tidepools. The trip to Half Moon Bay wouldn’t be complete without stopping here.

Enjoy. Xo.

LUCE SF

Luce a one Michelin star restaurant located inside InterContinental Hotel –  a great restaurant to visit without having to worry about getting reservations. I visited the restaurant on a weekday and it was a lot of fun. The dinner was very intimate, service was professional and the food tasted absolutely excellent.  See below the dishes my husband and I shared:

Saison

2016 has been a wonderful ride with many foodie adventures, travel, getting married and moving countries. My husband and I spent a lot of our weekends eating at the finest restaurants but we saved the best one, Saison, for New Year night and it was the most beautiful food experience we had in 2016.

Saison restaurant serves one of the most memorable meals you could have. I would recommend eating here for very special celebrations. Saison is also on the world’s 50 best restaurant list.  Saison usually has between 13 – 18-course tasting menu.  Words can’t describe how to good the entire meal tasted so how about some pictures to show it?! ❤

My husband and I take a few pictures before we get our very first course. We got seated at the best spot in the restaurant! We had a great view of the kitchen where the staff were preparing some of the dishes we ate. It was literally a work of art.

chocolates – made just for us!!!

My hubby and I are big fans of chocolates and this dish was made just for us from the pastry chef! There wasn’t any chocolate courses on the menu so they made this course just for us! We really love how the staff here is so friendly and laid back while at the same time very knowledgeable about all the food we ate.

We didn’t leave Saison without having a gift bag of the caramel sauce, wine and special tea. P.S throughout the entire dining experience you get to drink unlimited tea from oolong, green teas to herbal! I am not the biggest fan of wine pairing so they have the non-alcoholic  and tea pairing if you like 🙂
